Track of the Week 06

I just received ATB’s 8th album “Future Memories” and although What About Us and L.A Nights are his two singles off the CD the most appealing track off this album is Summervibes with 9pm. As usual this CD has the typical warm, summer feel that has usually been associated with André Tanneberger. The only beef I have with his single What About Us it reminds me to much of Ultrabeat, which I find cheesy. Although ATB has been known for his experimental tracks I find this one a little to much. I hope his next album brings a more traditional sound that we were accustomed to in his previous work, such as the sound of his 2003 release Addicted to Music, and 2004 No Silence. Overall great tracks from what I’ve heard, but for my favourite a mixture of Summervibe and 9pm just made me realize how much I love this music, and the good times that have been associated with it… 10 years of a classic.

Track of the Week 05

With the weather being extremely nice I think it’s only fitting that my most played track on my iPhone and laptop was DT8 Project’s Sun is Shinning (Down on Me) to remind me of the beautiful summer we enjoyed.

Enya + trance?

I was listening to some songs on my laptop the other day, and I am surprised that no DJ has had the opportunity to mix a song with Enya. When I listen to a track like Feel the Sun Rise – Banyan Tree from Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise, Vol. 7: Asia I get goosebumps, and when I listen to an Enya song – like Caribbean Blue – I fall in a dreamworld. I can hear her lovely, mystical voice complement any song, if properly done. I do remember Armin van Buuren mentioning that he would want to produce a track with her when he was promoting his album 76, but nothing has materialized on this front. I’ll continue crossing my fingers for this syngery of two of my favourite artists.

Make it happen Armin!

Track of the Week 04

Recently got my hands on this album, this track is a mash up of Lustral’s Everytime, and Deepest Blue’s Is It a Sin, check it out.

Track of the Week 03

I’m going to have to go with Lost by Sunlounger. Being the Tune of the Week on A State of Trance, and hearing the crowd sing along during it’s play at the 400th episode it deserves this spot. It will continue to be remixed, played, and edited for years to come… I enjoy how Roger Shah manged to get so many different sounds envolved in this track, simply amazing.
